TIPS ON STAYING INSPIRED AS A BLOGGER

I have been blogging for about three years now and have definitely had my ups and downs with staying inspired. There are weeks the ideas are flowing and then there are other days when I ask myself why I even do this. I think we’ve all been there, no matter what job you have! Not feeling inspired can be extremely frustrating so I put together a list of things that help me when I’m feeling unmotivated.

Find Your Tribe and Seek Them Out.
Surround yourself with creative people and that energy will become contagious and fuel the spark. It’s hard to be around passionate people creating beautiful things and to not catch the creative bug. Even if your friends aren’t in your creative “industry,” it’s the perfect way to collaborate and engage with other creative individuals. And that doesn’t have to mean in person. I am in lots of networking groups on Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, etc with groups of gals that have the same interests as I do. We pick each other up when were down and share in each other’s successes. I’ve met some great people through blogging and the fashion industry that will be lifelong friends.

Remove the Pressure.
Sometimes the best thing you can do to get out of a creative funk is to just hit pause. Remove the timelines and the accompanying pressure that comes along with it. Sometimes our creative energy can get blocked when there are too many restrictions, so take a step back and pause for a breath. When you stop looking for it is often when the greatest creative inspiration comes.

Get Moving.
Exercise and moving your body creates endorphins, which not only improve your mood, but gets your blood circulating as well. A quick run or workout and listening to music almost instantly changes my mood. This is usually my first step when I feel like I’m in a funk. Fresh air really is magical.

Put Pen to Paper.
I’m not sure what it is about writing things down, but it really works for me. I have a planner that I document EVERYTHING in. Sure, I have a million calendars and notes on my phone, but there is something so satisfying about actually writing it down. I keep a running list of blog posts, outfit ideas, photos to take, etc.

When in doubt, ask your readers.
I do this ALL the time! Seriously, if you watch my stories I am sure you will see one in the next few weeks. You guys are so helpful so THANK YOU. Remember, your readers follow you for a reason so why not ask them what the want to see.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
