With my due date approaching, I thought I would share a few ways that I’m prepping to become a mom of 2 babies! I can reuse almost everything since I’m having another boy but there were a few things I wanted to get for this babe! Before I jump into what I’m using, I wanted to share a charity that is close to my heart!
Ronald McDonald House Charities®
Since becoming a mom, my families health has become my #1 priority. Which is why the Ronald McDonald House Charities® are close to my heart. The Ronald McDonald House Charities® help families worldwide by providing comfort, support, and resources for families who need to travel for the medical care of their child.
Their programs provide a place for families to feel comfortable in hospital and provide a multitude of health care resources to underserved communities where they’re needed the most!

Alright, now let’s talk about baby prep.
New Bath & Bedtime Products
One of the first things on my baby 2 list was to get some new products for bath & bedtime. I rotate in Baby Magic products with Ashton and plan to do the same with baby 2. Their Gentle Baby line is made of good-for-you ingredients, vitamins, and Aloe.
The Baby Magic Gentle Hair and Body Wash is great for a new baby. It’s formula is super gentle on baby’s skin, hypoallergenic, tear-free, and smells amazing. It also has coconut oil and shea butter which helps soothe dry, sensitive skin.
The Gentle Baby Lotion has vitamins A, B and E along with Aloe to help moisturize dry skin and is perfect to apply after bath time.
New Books for Bedtime Stories
Raise your hand if you’re sick of reading the same books every night! Yep, it’s me! New books are definitively another way I am trying to hold on to my sanity with 2 under 2. Ashton has his favorites, but it’s time to add some new stories to the mix. Here are a few of the books I’ve grabbed for the boys.
The Hoppy & Poppie PinkCheeks Gift Box is a great little set for toddlers! I picked this up as a little big brother gift for Ashton and he loves it so far! The set comes with two board books for babies, “Not SO Scary” and “What We Feel”, as well as the Hoppy & Poppie stuffed animals, blanket, and emotion wristbands. This set is not only interactive for your kiddos, but also does a great job teaching children about emotions. If you’re interested in trying these books, use code “Friend10” for a 10% discount through 5/31/21. For more Hoppy & Poppie, you can also access their free guide for Toddlers here and check out their blog adventures here.
Another new book we added to our collection is Rock from the Sky, by Jon Klassen from Candlewick Press. This children’s science fiction book is a story of humor and friendship. It has great illustrations and is a fun read for the whole family. The book is 40 pages so we plan to read it over a few nights once the new baby is here!
Baby & Postpartum Care
Another item I picked up for baby 2 is a new baby carrier. I’ve heard that baby wearing is essential with having a toddler and a newborn! We have a few carriers, but the KeaBabies Baby Wrap Carrier is super soft, lightweight, and perfect for throwing in a travel bag. I will also be trying out the KeaBabies 3-in-1 Postpartum Recovery Support Belt to help realign body and posture after delivery. The wrap also prevents sagging and swelling of abdomen, supports your spine for breastfeeding, and returns hip to your pre-pregnancy size. KeaBabies also has a great Facebook support community for new mamas that you can check out here! Use Kelli10 for a discount if you’re interested in KeaBabies.
Nursery Prep
Besides the usual nursery prep, I’ve been rewashing all of Ashton’s things to use for baby 2. As any mom could tell you, reusing clothing and baby blankets comes with a lot of stains and spit up. I’ve been using OxiClean Free & Clear as a laundry stain remover and love that it’s free of dyes, perfumes, chlorine, and optical brighteners. Check out my before and after below when Ashton attacked me with a strawberry! You can pick up your OxiClean here.
If you have any other tips on how to prep for the second baby I would love to hear them in the comments!
