ALL ABOUT DYSPORT

Today’s topic is one I’ve been very excited to discuss! As a blogger, I try to be very transparent about things like my beauty routine, blogging tips, where I shop, etc. After all, that’s why I have this blog, right? I’m here to share all the REAL details of my life so I can be a resource to my readers.

I recently had my first experience with Dysport, which was done at Sistine Plastic Surgery and I want to fill you in on what this treatment does and my overall experience. So let’s begin!

To give you a little background, once I hit 30 I started taking precautions against premature aging way more seriously. But let’s be real, in some cases you can use all the products in the world, but genetics still wins.

I naturally have a very expressive face (thanks Mom :p ), meaning a lot of my facial expressions cause wrinkles over time . I feel like I take great care of my skin and use all the right products, but those dang forehead lines are still staring back at me. This is what initially sparked my interest on cosmetic injectable treatments.

I will say that some people act like injectables, such as Dysport or Botox, are such a taboo subject. But guess what: it’s A LOT more common than you think. We shouldn’t feel embarrassed or the need to hide this because I bet that almost every woman has considered, or even received, one of these treatments at some point in her life. Injectables like Dysport & Botox are preventative and if done correctly and in moderation, have a lot of benefits.

So let me break it down for you.

What is Dysport? Dysport is a Neurotoxin injection (similar to Botox) proven to temporarily smooth the appearance of moderate to severe wrinkles to create softer, younger-looking skin.

Where can I get Dysport? I highly recommend Dr. Leong at Sistine Plastic Surgery. I went to their Sewickley office, but they have 5 other offices in the Pittsburgh area. Check them out here. Dr. Leong is one of the few plastic surgeons in Pittsburgh who focuses exclusively on the cosmetic concerns of the face and neck.

What is the difference between Dysport and Botox? They are different brands of a very similar chemical compound. In my opinion, Dysport has a softer more natural looking effect and kicks in a lot faster. I noticed a difference after only 2 days!

Where is Dysport injected? I received treatment in my glabella (aka my 11’s between my eyebrows), forehead, and crowsfeet (smile lines by eyes). Those three areas are the most popular, but Dysport can also be used for a slimmer jawline, bunny lines (nose), or chin.

How long does it last? Dysport can last 3-4 months but each person is different depending upon how fast their body metabolizes.

How much does it cost? Sistine Plastic Surgery charges by area and offers intro pricing with your first visit with a registered nurse. Normal pricing can range from $250 – $875 depending on the number of areas treated. My friends at Sistine Plastic Surgery are also generously offering $100 off your first treatment if you mention my name during scheduling. (Scroll to the bottom for details)

Does it hurt? Not at all. Everyone has a different pain tolerance but it’s literally a small pinch and if that still bothers you, you can always ask for ice.

Dysport has definitely fixed my wrinkle concerns and I am so happy with my results. I can’t say enough about Sistine Plastic Surgery because they made my first treatment a really great experience.

One of my favorite things about Dr. Leong was he took the time to talk with me about what I wanted. He wasn’t shuffling patients in and out or quickly giving me treatment and rushing me out. He takes the time to get to know his patients, answer any questions, build a relationship, and understand their beauty concerns. I think we talked for maybe 30 minutes and the actual procedure took about 5 😉 They also offer lots of other treatments and you read about those here.

I hope this post helped teach the benefits of Dysport and answer any questions, but don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any I didn’t answer!!

Sistine Plastic Surgery is offering my friends and followers $100 off any service of your choice (excluding products and single session energy devices) if you mention my name when scheduling your appointment. Offer lasts until March 1st.

Thank you to Dr. Leong and Sistine Plastic Surgery for partnering on this post!
