Can you believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner? Our plans are still up in the air, but I know we’ll be bouncing around visiting a few different family members. Deciding what to wear on Thanksgiving has always been a struggle for me. On one hand, I want to get one more wear out of a beautiful fall dress and tall boots before moving into the winter party attire. And then on the other hand, I want to wear cozy joggers and a teddy pullover that allows me to go back for seconds.
Last year, I wrote a post on four holiday looks that are already hanging in your closet. You can see that post here. This year, I wanted to post something similar using pieces that fall right in between the dinner party attire & cozy lounge wear line. Because why can’t we have the best of both worlds?!
1. Plaid Prints: First up, this gorgeous plaid shearling coat. Plaid is one of the most popular prints this winter which makes this coat a great staple piece to tie your outfit together. I love the boxy oversized fit which is perfect for pairing with any type of structured pant or dress. It’s double breasted with a fluffy lining which makes it the perfect coat for transitioning from fall into winter. I am planning on pairing this coat with a basic tee shirt, distressed jeans, and sock booties for a fun festive look for Thanksgiving brunch. Everything I’m wearing is under $100 and linked below!
2. The Sweater Dress: You guys know I love a good sweater dress and this grid print turtleneck has been on repeat in my closet this fall. I am a sucker for neutrals and I love the fun ribbed turtleneck. Sweater dresses are key for Thanksgiving! The loose fit is perfect to hide that piece of pumpkin pie and wine I plan on indulging in next week! Pair it with some OTK or knee high boots and some fun earrings and you’re ready to go!
3. The Must Have Knit: This heart print sweater was seen everywhere last winter and I am so happy that it’s back this year. It’s such a fun piece with a flirty off the shoulder look. It comes in 4 different colors and is under $80! I paired mine with a casual skirt and blanket scarf that I used as a shawl, but it would also look perfect with jeans or a pleated midi skirt.
4. The Perfect Trench: I love a good trench and this army green open chiffon trench coat one is no exception. This coat is a classic closet staple and would look great with dressy or casual looks. I paired this with a lace cream dress and my favorite OTK boots and I’ll be wearing this to our Friendsgiving Party this weekend!
What are you planning to wear for Thanksgiving? I’d love to get some more ideas so let me know if the comments below. As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
